Baptiste, ranked 70th in the world, defeated Aussie qualifier Storm Hunter in a confident 63-minute display, reaching the AO third round for the first time. She dominated with 24 winners, more than tripling Hunter's output.
Gauff's fast starts in both sets were crucial. She won three out of the first four games, all going to deuce, and her ability to move Danilovic around the court with precision was key to her success.
